Essay about Mr. Flowerbottom
Essay about Mr. Flowerbottom Essay about Mr. Flowerbottom Mr. Flowerbottom. My special item is a giant mushroom. His name is Mr. Flowerbottom and he represents me in many ways. Like my mushroom counterpart, I not only use life to my advantage. Death is also fruitful because through growing on it, I am able to become stronger and learn from my experiences. The different types of mushrooms convey my mood. Sometimes I may be the magic psilocybe cubensis which teaches others, other times I may be the amanita bisporigera, the destroying angel, when Iââ¬â¢m in a bad mood. Most of the time I am the common morchelle which is edible by all and not feared by any. The long stem of Mr. Flowerbottom represents my life leading up to its peak, the head. Here the intricacies, knowledge and the truth of life is stored waiting to be passed on and sprouted. The mushroom is the base of life. It thrives in any situation, any climate, in the light and in the dark. It is not dependent on others, it grows where it wishes. We mushrooms provide a means of both cleansing and nutrie nts for others. Mushrooms know and have experienced nature in its purest form. They can provide shelter for others and they can reveal to you the secrets of the earth and why things are. Mr. Flowerbottom represents the life of others and me in our most elementary form, functioning enough to stay alive and to help others. The flowers on Mr. Flowerbottom relate to my happiness and the joy of living. They show personality and joy. The floral design is symbol of detail and mystery, it requires thinking and imagination to decide why they are there and what they mean. My life is shown through these because I am also stuck on the great mysteries of existence and through thought and thinking someday

The American Dream Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words - 1
The American Dream - Essay Example The most basic comparison is that both American residents as well as these illegal immigrants want to live the American dream but the catch here is that is that although the goal is the same but the environment that the American nationals have is in stark contrast to the facilities that the illegal immigrants have, since they are illegal immigrants they can never have the same facilities that proper American nationals enjoy because no one would be willing to employ them not only because it is illegal to do so but also because the illegal immigrant might move out any time. The values of freedom of speech, equality and opportunities for every one have become so embedded in the American culture that every one is able to make use of them and enjoy them, so the illegal immigrants are also able to enjoy this culture so both the groups have a same working environment but the fact remains that illegal Mexican immigrants will never be given the status of citizens and hence never be entitled t o the American citizenship or American dream. In contrast when these Mexicans cannot find proper jobs according to their academic qualification, they take up petty jobs and therefore do not continue to look forward to the material well being and in affect stop believing in the American dream.

The Impact of the Nursing Shortage Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
The Impact of the Nursing Shortage - Essay Example The long-term impact of the nursing shortage will become increasingly more significant in several areas. The primary concern will be the impact it has on the ability of nurses to provide quality health care. With fewer staff, nurses are required to work longer hours and assume additional responsibilities. Overworked nurses, burdened with fatigue and job stress, are more prone to accidental errors and a reduction in timely medical attention. A survey of registered nurses indicated that 79 percent of hospital employed RNs believed that short staffing contributed to a reduction in the quality of patient care. A long-term and escalating nursing shortage could contribute to the 98,000 deaths per year due to medical errors as reported by the Institute of Medicine in 2000. Aside from the important issue of the quality of patient care is the factor of rising health care costs. As the labor supply of qualified nurse's shrinks, the competition for nurses increases. A wage war may result from the shortage and will contribute to the rising costs as hospitals increase the wages and compensatory packages for their staff. Costs associated with temporary hiring practices have also increased due to the shortage. While an increase in wages may seem to benefit the nurses, increased demands may not be worth the cost. Nurses working extended shifts and longer hours may come under increased scrutiny from administrators and government regulators struggling to eliminate the human errors and the increased cost of malpractice insurance.

We Dont Sell Foods, We Sell Health Research Paper - 2
We Dont Sell Foods, We Sell Health - Research Paper Example The target market for this ad is basically full-time housewife who wants taking good care of family and people who are interested in changing body condition by eating healthy foods. In this case, I choose to design this ad looks like a shopping receipt. My core idea is to tell customers Whole Foods Market sells health instead of foods and they buy more percentage to live well with the most competitive prices possible. According to Jenkins, an advert should capture the attention of the audience at a glance (Jefkins & Yadin, 2000). I used the font as the same one on the formal receipt in my ad because I want my audience to recognize it as a receipt immediately. The font color is black and the logo is green just like the Whole Foods current logo. The receipt also seems to be laying on the desk and a little curve in order to make it more stereoscopic and attractive. This feature enhances the clarity of the advert to the customer and brings out more attention and focus on the information provided. The final ad features ââ¬Å"total healthâ⬠in order to equip the knowledge to customers of the true nature of services available. It shows that complete health awareness is found here. The advert aims at increasing the awareness of customers of the significance of high-quality foods. This implies care on the part of the seller to the customers in promoting the quality and health in life. Vincent argues that an advertisement needs to be colorful and attractive depending on the media used. This captures the attention of the audience and sends a good message with clarity (Vincent, 1989). This receipt is suitable for magazine advertising since it lacks color and can be outstanding in the colorful magazine layout. The message is precise and the advert has been designed in a mode to fit in a small part of the magazine.à Ã

Mencius
1. What social structure does Mencius envision for the ideal society? Who should be in charge? Does he favor choosing officials based on ascriptive status (i. e. their aristocratic pedigree) or does he believe in using meritocratic criteria for selecting officials? Is he egalitarian, or does he favor maintenance of a social hierarchy? Mencius developed a very early form of what was to be called in modern times the ââ¬Å"social contract. Mencius, like Confucius, believed that rulers were divinely placed in order to guarantee peace and order among the people they rule. Unlike Confucius, Mencius believed that if a ruler failed to bring peace and order about, then the people could be absolved of all loyalty to that ruler and could, if they felt strongly enough about the matter, revolt. 2. What makes a state successful in Menciusââ¬â¢ eyes? Does he esteem conquest and military might? Economic power? Religious or moral force? What does a ruler need to do to make his state successful? What happens to bad rulers? (Mencius' argument that unjust rulers may be overthrown) Does Mencius esteem the creation of a unified empire, and if so, how should one go about unifying China? Mencius emphasized the significance of the common citizens in the state. While Confucianism generally regards rulers highly, he argued that it is acceptable for the subjects to overthrow or even kill a ruler who ignores the people's needs and rules harshly. This is because a ruler who does not rule justly is no longer a true ruler. What are the hallmarks of a moral society in Menciusââ¬â¢ way of thinking? How should wealth be distributed? What kinds of lives should people lead? What outward signs indicate that a society is good, and what are the symptoms of emerging social problems? 4. What is the role of education in Menciusââ¬â¢ ideal society? Should education focus on practical training? Ritual knowledge? Moral cultivation? Who ought to be educated? According to Mencius, education must awaken the innate abilities of the human mind. He denounced memorization and advocated active interrogation of the text, saying, ââ¬Å"One who believes all of a book would be better off without books. â⬠One should check for internal consistency by comparing sections and debate the probability of factual accounts by comparing them with experience. 5. Explain the following ideas according to Mencius: gentleman, mandate of Heaven, filial piety, the (Doctrine of the) Mean, the Five Relationships, benevolence, the innate goodness of humankind. Disability Leave - 4401 Words
Disability Leave Disability leave is time off from work for a reason related to someoneââ¬â¢s disability. It is a type of ââ¬Ëreasonable adjustmentââ¬â¢ which disabled workers are entitled under the Equality Act 2010. This factsheet tells you why disability leave is important to your branch; how to organise around it; and how to negotiate a good disability leave agreement. Disability issues have been on branch agendas for some time and employers may welcome an approach from UNISON representatives to jointly agree policies for disabled workers. Knowledge can be power, so publicise disabled peopleââ¬â¢s rights.
